CTET September 2026 Overview

CTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are advised to verify the latest eligibility conditions available on the NCTE Official Website under the “Minimum Qualifications of Teachers” and “TET Guidelines” sections.

Paper I (Classes I to V)

Applicants must fulfill any one of the following qualifications:

• Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).

• Senior Secondary (10+2) with minimum 45% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 2-year D.El.Ed. as per NCTE norms.

• Senior Secondary (10+2) with minimum 50% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).

• Graduation with at least 50% marks along with B.Ed qualification.

Paper II (Classes VI to VIII)

Candidates should meet any one of the following conditions:

• Graduation and passed/appearing in final year of 2-year D.El.Ed.

• Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year or 2-year B.Ed.

• Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 4-year B.El.Ed. or B.A./B.S.Ed.

• Post-Graduation with minimum 55% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed.
