Tamil Nadu Govt Polytechnic Lateral Entry Admission 2026–27 – Apply Online for Direct 2nd Year Diploma

Applications are invited for admission to Direct 2nd Year (Lateral Entry) Diploma courses in Government Polytechnic Colleges across Tamil Nadu, under the Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE), Chennai. This admission is intended for candidates who have completed 12th standard or ITI. Only applicants belonging to Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply. Candidates who have studied outside Tamil Nadu must produce a valid nativity certificate to be considered under Tamil Nadu quota. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must have:

• Passed 10+2 (HSC) with subjects like Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry / Computer Science / IT / Electronics / Biology / Biotechnology / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics / Business Studies / Entrepreneurship (any three)
  OR

• Passed 10th + 2 years ITI in relevant trade

Eligible for admission to Second Year Diploma Courses

• No Age Limit

Selection Process

• Candidates will be selected based on total marks obtained in +2 examination

• Ranking will be prepared based on marks and reservation norms

1. For 10th + ITI candidates:

• Selection based on qualifying exam marks

• Limited to 10% of total intake
