CSAB Counselling 2023 Special Round Begins on August 2: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela will start the registration process for the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) on June 19. This registration is for students seeking admission to 31 NITs, Indian Institute of Engineering, Science, and Technology (IIEST), 26 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), 3 School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), and 36 Government-funded technical institutes (GFTIs) through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023.

CSAB Counselling 2023 Admission Process

NIT Rourkela will conduct the CSAB special round after the JoSAA counselling 2023. There will also be CSAB-Supernumerary rounds to fill extra seats in certain NITs for the Union Territories. CSAB counselling 2023 NEUT rounds will start from June 26, specifically for candidates from North-East states and Union Territories. Around 2.5 to 3 lakh JEE Main 2023 qualified candidates are expected to register for CSAB counselling 2023, competing for approximately 40,000 seats (including 20% for female candidates). The institute has set up a multi-lingual help desk in several languages to assist candidates.

Changes In CSAB Counselling 2023

• To be eligible, candidates should have a minimum of 75% marks in Class 12 or be in the top 20 percentile.
• SC, ST, and PwD students must score at least 65% in Class 12 for eligibility.
• Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) candidates can apply under the general category.
• Candidates with less than 40% disability but difficulty in writing, and who used a scribe or received extra time during the exam, need to undergo physical verification at the verification center.
• Candidates whose category changed during JoSAA counselling 2023 can restore their birth category by providing a valid certificate during the CSAB special round registration.
• NIT Rourkela has an online interface for category restoration, where candidates can upload the required certificate.
