Educational Qualification

We are looking for people with sensitivity to ground-level issues of farmers, ability to work in non-hierarchical teams, a high sense of ownership, willingness to travel, good oral and written communication, and who can work independently under tight deadlines.
• Masters in any discipline (in any social sciences, rural development, development studies, and management discipline) with work relating to agriculture and/or civic action.
• For SRF’s a Ph.D. or Fellow (including nearing completion) is desirable with published work in journals, commissioned reports, and/or popular media.
• Development practitioners with substantial field-based experience and project management in the agricultural sector and/or civic action and some experience outside university settings especially with civil society organizations would be valued.

Responsibilities include:

a. Pursuing or coordinating research relating to agroecological innovations, sustainable transitions, agricultural markets, natural farming, and producer organizations.
b. Leading/ Coordinating/ assisting (curating, planning, and executing) independent surveys, studies, and action research projects on agricultural policy and civic action.
c. Planning and coordinating desk reviews on public investment in agriculture, policies, institutions, etc.
d. Project and grant management: Interface and coordination with internal and external stakeholders, organizing events and multistakeholder learning alliances.
