Microsoft Expands AI Copilot to Windows 10 Users and Implements Changes in Response to Digital Markets Act: Microsoft has expanded the availability of its AI-powered Copilot feature to Windows 10 users, after initially launching it exclusively for Windows 11. To access Copilot, users with compatible devices must install a Release Preview build that includes this feature. Participation in the Windows Insider tester program is necessary to install the preview build and potentially try out Copilot on Windows 10 Home or Pro.

Microsoft noted that it might take some time for devices to be confirmed as eligible for Copilot on Windows 10, even for users with the ‘Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available’ toggle activated. The system requirements for Copilot include a minimum of 4GB of RAM and a display adapter supporting a resolution of at least 720p.

The preview of Copilot is currently limited to specific markets, such as North America and selected areas in Asia and South America. Geographical restrictions may prevent users in other regions from accessing the feature.

The Copilot in Windows button will be situated on the right side of the taskbar in Windows 10. When selected, Copilot in Windows will appear on the right side of the screen without overlapping with desktop content or blocking open app windows, according to Microsoft.

In response to the Digital Markets Act (DMA) in the European Economic Area (EEA), Microsoft has implemented changes in the operating system. Users can now choose between providers and uninstall most in-box apps, including the Microsoft Edge web browser and Bing Search from the Windows Search pane, as part of these adjustments.
