The Odisha CGL Exam Pattern 2026 explains how the exam will be conducted and what type of questions candidates can expect. Stage I: Preliminary Examination
CBRE Examination of 150 marks in MCQ Type Question format. The time duration for this stage will be 150 minutes. The questions will be asked from below subjects.

Stage II: Mains Written Examination
The exam pattern for the main examination has been shared below. The questions will be of objective type.
There will be two papers of 200 Marks.
The Paper-I will be of language (Odia and English) & Paper-II will be of General Studies
For Language, a total of 80 questions will be MCQ which is to be answered in OMR answer sheet.
The Questions about Precis Writing and Translation will not be MCQ and will have to be answered in Question- cum-Answer Booklet.
80 MCQs will carry 80 marks. Translation and Precis questions will carry 20 marks.
All MCQ will invite negative marking for wrong answer.
The Pattern of General Studies will be objective type only.
