General English:
- Comprehension of a given passage – 30 marks
- Precis writing with a passage of around 1000 words – 40 marks
- Translation from Odia to English – 30 marks
- Grammar, usage, and vocabulary – 80 marks
- A short essay of around 1000 words -100 marks
- Expansion of an idea – 20 marks
- Total – 300 marks

The optional topics’ question papers will include a total of eight questions. Every question will be worth the same amount of points, and each paper will be separated into two sections: Part A and Part B. There are four questions in each section. Five questions are to be attempted out of the total of eight. Each section will have one mandatory question.
