General English:

  • Comprehension of a given passage  –  30 marks
  • Precis writing with a passage of around 1000 words – 40 marks
  • Translation from Odia to English  – 30 marks
  • Grammar, usage, and vocabulary – 80 marks
  • A short essay of around 1000 words -100 marks
  • Expansion of an idea  – 20 marks
  • Total   – 300 marks

General Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of current events
  • Knowledge of scientific aspects
  • Indian polity
  • Political system
  • Constitution of India
  • History of India
  • Geography
  • Total – 300 Marks

The optional topics’ question papers will include a total of eight questions. Every question will be worth the same amount of points, and each paper will be separated into two sections: Part A and Part B. There are four questions in each section. Five questions are to be attempted out of the total of eight. Each section will have one mandatory question. Candidates will be expected to answer three more questions from the remaining six, with at least one question from each section. The syllabus pdf contains further information.
