New Update 05.04.2022: The officials of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) have released the Exam Centre List & Admit Card Rules for Male & Female Candidates for the UPSC NDA 1 Exam 2022 which was scheduled for 10th April 2022.

UPSC NDA & NA (I) 2022 Written Exam Pattern & Rules

The subjects of the written examination, the time allowed and the maximum marks allotted to each subject will be as follows:

Important Rules:

1. The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions
2. The question papers (test booklets) of mathematics and Part “B” of the General Ability Test will be set bilingually in Hindi as well as English.
3. Candidates should note that there will be Negative Marking of One-third marks for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
4. In the question papers, wherever necessary, questions involving the metric system of Weights and Measures only will be set.
5. Answers other than those made by Black Ball Point Pen would not be evaluated.
6. Candidates should note that any omission/ mistake/ discrepancy in encoding / filling in details in the OMR answer sheet, especially with regard to Roll Number and Test Booklet Series Code, will render the answer sheet liable for rejection.
7. Candidates must write the papers in their own hands. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write answers for them.
8. The Commission has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects at the examination.
9. The candidates are not permitted to use the calculator or Mathematical or logarithmic table for answering objective-type papers.

What is NDA Exam?

National Defence Academy or NDA exam is conducted twice a year by Union Public Service Commission for admission to Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of NDA and Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). It is the most sought-after defense entrance exam in the country where both male and female candidates can apply.

The exam is conducted in two stages: written exam and SSB Interview. In 2020, a total of 5.3 lakh candidates had applied for the exam, out of which 2.4 lakh candidates appeared for the exam.
