WBTET Subject Wise Syllabus:

Child Development and Pedagogy:

In this section of the exam, questions will be related to the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. Questions will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners, and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

Language I:

This section will test aspirants on their proficiency in the language of their choice. Candidates can select any language from the list mentioned below:

  • Bengali
  • Hindi
  • Urdu
  • Nepali
  • Santhali
  • Oriya
  • Telugu

Language II:

In this section, aptitude possessed by aspirants in the English language is tested. Here questions posed would evaluate aspirants on the basis of their (English language) communication and comprehension abilities.

Questions in this section will be on concepts, problem-solving techniques, and a general understanding of the subjects.

  • Individual differences among learners, understanding differences based on diversity of language, caste, gender, community, religion etc.
  • Distinction between Assessment for learning and assessment of learning; School-Based Assessment, Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation: perspective and practice
  • Formulating appropriate questions for assessing readiness levels of learners; for enhancing learning and critical thinking in the classroom and for assessing learner achievement.
